Design for usability, isn’t that our main tasks as trying to be a good designer? Keeping this in mind, design for sustainability, and supporting the movement towards a sustainable society, points the focus towards informing and educating people. Influencing shopping behaviour of the end-consumer, is the same important as the actual creation of new and sustainable goods. Consumers are the ones who eventually decide on the success of a product, through their purchase. Therefore I want to point out that the design of a widely understood and trusted eco-labelling system has to go a long with creation and improvement of the products. If people don’t know which products are “good” or “bad”, how should they make the right choice for a sustainable product?
